DO NOT grief! This includes breaking into homes, ruins, or any sort of structure without RP and a way of doing so with the intent of, but not limited to, looting it, exploring it, or damaging it. This can also include placing blocks to get over gaps, climb structures or obstructions, and so forth. See common sense rule below.
DO NOT spam chat!
No public ERP! Take it to a private chat off server. Additionally, rape and pedophilic/child sex RP is not allowed here.
Be respectful. (We will showNOtolerance for disrespect of any kind OOC. Such behavior has no place here. This includes rude remarks, sarcasm, etc.)
Don’t lock doors that do not belong to you.
This is a know your limits server, so don't attempt to do things you would not be able to do ICly. (An example would be knowing how to log, mine, farm, build, fight, doctor, and brew alcohol with one character. Another good example is building large structures or mining huge spaces on your own [See building rules])
Use the courier system logically. If you're in a combat situation, there is not going to be a courier standing ready so you can send for help.
Ores do not spawn naturally in the world, and must be gathered from mines. Mines can be built by players with proper reasoning and admin permission. These mines will be set up to be automatically refilled every 24 hours.
You cannot be OOC, meaning you can't "take a peek" in a restricted area OOCly, walk around OOC waiting on a character, and so on. Only staff may be OOC unelss they give you permission to be as such.
The /backpack command can only be used to store your armor or other items you would wear on your person if you'd rather use a skin than wear it normally. This includes items such as masks, amulets, glasses, boots, gloves, coats, and so forth. It can also be used for arrows and bolts if you have a quiver item in your normal inventory. It CANNOT be used for anything else, or general item storage. Abusing it to store normal items can result in you losing your permission to use the plugin.
The Common Courtesy rule. This is a server dedicated to role-playing. That means you should treat it like one, not like your average Minecraft server. Likewise, you should treat everyone who plays on the Realm of Saphriel with respect. If you cannot do that, you do not belong here.
The Common Sense rule. We pride ourselves to lean on realistic and enjoyable RP. That means common sense on what you can and cannot do in the world is incredibly important. Before you do something, stop to think, “Could my character actually do this in any realistic possible way?” If the answer is no, then don’t do it. Just because something isn’t written down in the rules doesn’t mean it should happen.
The Activity rule. If you fail to log in without informing staff for over a period of 1 month, all major items in your inventory will be removed and placed back into server loot circulation via event loot or merchants to keep items relevant and in use.
This rule also comes into effect should someone attempt to circumvent it or in special cases. Examples include but are not limited to logging in one day in every month as a means to avoid action or should a player declare they are departing permanently.
Fighting is to be kept as RP combat, unlessallparties agree to rolling.
Weapons have Lore behind them that determine how well they work and what effects they have on people in RP combat. Ingame enchantments are a guideline as to the general quality of a weapon or item.
Don't be that guy who always goes straight for the killing blow with every attack, or miraculously gets into position for the killing blow every time. Attack realistically and accordingly to the situation. (This can be considered a form of power-gaming)
If everyone agrees to roll and it results in a tie, the defender will always win.
Players are free to use a skin to display their armor, however they must have their mechanical armor in their inventory or their actively worn gear inventory (/backpack) as proof.
You cannot carry armor on you, then suddenly equip it when a battle starts. If it's not on when you begin fighting, then it's not on at all. This is, again, a realist server.
When breaking into a home of a player or stealing any belongings of theirs you must have a moderator or higher observe you do so to make sure it is RPed properly.
You cannot steal large amounts of items, only take what you could realistically carry. (Example, walking off with an armory's worth of weapons from the blacksmith is very unrealistic.)
You must have a valid RP reason to rob someone if thieving is out of character for you.
Do not attempt to kill another player without a valid RP reason.
Know when it's your time to die, constant death avoidance is frowned upon.
Please note that going into dangerous areas or reckless actions in combat is a good way to get yourself killed. Regardless of who your character is, there is no such thing as a plot shield here.
Overcomplaining in regards to character death is frowned upon. Sadness over a character's death is understandable, but nonetheless Saphriel is a dangerous world, and no character is immune to death.
You cannot come back as your own ghost or anything of the sort. Legacy characters (characters that are extremely similar to a previously played character) are also not allowed.
No excessive or needless swearing in OOC.
DO NOT advertise your server/product in chat.
Keep the conversation above the belt in OOC.
Keep IC information out of OOC. This includes asking others for IC information your character realistically wouldn't know.
Don’t use different colours for your names. Keep your name one colour.
Do not use colours that are difficult to read in your name, specifically dark blue (&1) and black (&0).
Dark red and dark purple are Staff colours. Do not use them for your name.
Regarding TeamSpeak: If you aren't part of the server, and aren't applying or asking questions for your application, then you will be removed. If you are looking to ask questions, we have a help room that will serve this purpose.
Do not build something your character could not realistically do on their own. (An example would be an average run of the mill guard constructing a large manor on his own) It is recommended to hire a carpenter-based character to help you build larger structures.
If you play a carpenter or any other form of construction character, you may build what you like as long as it does not break rules or come across as unrealistic. It is suggested to hire help when doing larger builds
Resource-gathering should also be done realistically; if your character would not know how to mine stone and shape it into bricks, then don't do it. The same goes for lumberjacking and terraforming.
Do not leave floating trees or anything else behind that looks unnatural or damages terrain in an unrealistic way.
More Player Models
Do not edit your player to an animal or any other form of non-player entity.
Do not edit yourself to be extremely huge or tiny, you must always be the size of your race/character and have proportionate limbs.
Do not add extra body parts to your character that they would not have. (Horns, tails, claws, spider legs)
Looting Rules for Events
Do not massively loot (Don't take excessive amounts of items and leave nothing for other players)
If you loot during an event, you must have an RP reason (I want it, I was bored, etc. are not acceptable reasons) (What we don't want for example, player A and B get bored and decide to ignore the demon everyone else is fighting to go explore its castle and loot everything while everyone else is rping.)
If you loot during an event, you must RP it.
When an event officially ends, you may loot as much as you want without RP. (The first rule still applies)
