Far in the eastern lands, the great swamp of Fagorum laid just past the mountains of Hjanteror. For humanity, this land was completely unknown to them, shielded from their eyes by the mighty mountain ranges. It was here the peculiar Goblin race lived in their floating cities on top of the murky waters, spending their days doing relatively peaceful things. This peace would not last forever, though, as the great minds of their society ever invented without insight of what it did to their surroundings. It started out barely noticeable with a few trees becoming sick and a few bodies of water going bad, but as their pollution grew, so did their problems. Months later, crisis sparked all around the many villages as fish began to die and float to the surface and their planted crops becoming flat out poisonous to eat. However, it was too late to change anything. The swamps they had dwelled in was slowly killing them now, as they had done to it with their inventions. It became clear as day that they would have to move soon to secure their own survival.
It was at this point of time that they were approached by an Orc rider, bringing news of lands beyond the mountains, rich in fertile land and pleasant nature, ready to ripe only for the price of those who already lived on it. And out of necessity, the Goblins accepted their new place at the side of the Orcs, serving them well in the invasion of the human kingdom and especially in the siege of the Dwarven capital, which fell to the sheer number of Goblin invaders attacking it. This capital later became the new home of the Goblins, however it was reclaimed by the people of Saphriel later in the war. For years they raged war with the people of Saphriel alongside the rest of the Pact, until these last few years which lead up to their defeat. However with a new threat rising the goblins along with the orcs have formed a temporary alliance with the people of Saphriel. So that they may band together and fight against the threat of hell itself as it begins to invade the mortal realm. A few goblins have been sent to the city of Barkamsted to help garrison it, however many people are hesitant to allow their old enemies into their home, even in such small numbers. Only time will tell if this alliance holds true long enough for them to fend off hell itself.
Goblins are by far the most numerous of the Orcs, Goblins and Trolls, outnumbering the Orcs approximately four to one and the Trolls approximately eleven to one. They serve as scouts, labourers, servants and many other minor jobs more suited for their tiny frames. Due to the lack of female Goblins near the front lines, our knowledge of them are severely lacking. The average Goblin stands approximately four feet tall. No outlying cases observed. Sexual maturity, adulthood and expiration dates are unknown, although are estimated to be lower than the Orcs’.
Physically, a Goblin is short and frail, possessing very little physical prowess compared to humans. Despite their size however, they possess an uncanny speed, allowing them to cross large distances very quickly. Likewise their small frames allow them to hide and move unobserved, provided they know how to. Like the Orcs, Goblins possess green skin, although only shades of green have so far been observed. Goblins are capable of growing hair as well as facial hair, although this is rare. Instead, Goblins tend to be completely bald. Further studies pending.
Overall, a Goblin resembles a short, green human in most of its features, which would not be an unjustified comparison. Like the humans, they serve as the tinkers of their alliance, creating tools, weapons, armour and many other inventions. Crude in nature, but effective in use, a Goblin invention should never be underestimated. Goblins are the utmost masters of producing poisons and chemical weapons by using herbs found far to the East in their native land. Moreover, they are equally skilled in applying them in combat.
Additional notes: Despite their frailty and lack of physical prowess, the Goblins should never be taken lightly. They are the most intelligent among the Orcs and Trolls and outnumber both put together.

Goblins typically do not bother with religion, and focus more so on their devices and inventions. However this does not mean their people are completely without religion. While the bulk of their people do not worship any specific god, there are some who still take up a religion for whatever reason they may do so. The most common of which being Demosto, the god of creation. The reason for his worship is believed to be related to the goblins desire to invent and create.
Goblins, while being of average intelligence at best, and often socially unintelligent, possess vastly creative minds and are often incredibly book smart. Resulting many of their race becoming inventors or tinkerers.
Due to their people living most of their lives in swamps and their own pollution, they have developed a very strong immune system.
Goblins rarely show any magical potiental with most of their race not having any magical power, the ones who do are only able to use one aspect.
